Steam valves

Hi

In Voltaic I can't get the steam valves puzzle to work. I've just done the
lava room correctly (I Think?) but when I return to the steam valves there's
no steam coming from them. I close all 3 valves and pull the lever but I
don't go up to the next level. What am I doing wrong? Have I not done
something in the Lava room? I've pressed the button that's revealed when you
do all the bits with the red lever. I've come out of the lava room and made
sure I raised the level of the lava again, so I'm left scratching my head
now. I can't think what else to do. Any clues?

Done it!! Apparently before you leave the Lava Room you have to leave the
mechanism on the left side of the fan. I was leaving it on the right side so
when I left the room to try to raise the level of the lava again, it wasn't
working. I now have steam!! In fact I've completed the game now, and wow
what a game. Never played any of the mist games before but if the others are
anything like this one then I'll try and get hold of some copies. Its the
first game I've had that's been used with a decent graphics card. Just
bought a Dell Dimension 8300 inc 256mb ATI Radeon 9800XT, previously had a
crappy AMD 600mhz inc 16mb Voodoo3 3000 card so you can see what I've been
missing out on. Anyway enough waffle, anyone recommend some more great
adventure games along the lines of Mist.

If you like Exile, you should definitely play Myst (or realMyst) and Riven.
Other Myst-like games I've played and love are Syberia (and Syberia II just
came out), Riddle of the Sphinx (and the sequel, Omega Stone is now out),
and Timescape (older game and difficult to find but worth the time).

I also tried Schizm but it's really tough, I needed a lot of hints for
it.... the sequel, Mysterious Journey II is out now.
