Myst IV and laptops?

I have an ATI Radeon 9600 Pro Turbo card on a Dell notebook, and I'm
wondering if this will work. I know games say that notebook cards aren't
supported, but does this mean it won't work at all?

Hi John,

I have no experience with Myst IV and notebooks but I wouldn't know why it
should not work.
Myst IV has beautiful graphics but it is all pre-rendered, so you don't need
fast 3d processing or whatever.
I know that Myst 1, 2 and 3 also played fine on a notebook. Don't know if
the same is true for Myst Uru but then again, an ATI 9600 has more than
enough horsepower for games like this.

The only problem with notebooks is that fast paced action games might look
blurry because of the pixel-on-off time of lcd monitors. But that's also
much better now than a few years ago.

A friend bought a copy of Myst III for her PC laptop (don't recall the
make--maybe Dell), and it wouldn't run at all. So make sure you can
return it if IV has the same limitation.
We tried it on my old iMac with subwoofer, and I've been hooked ever
since.
